    What a life!!!! He left this mortal coil for the final time.

    I loved Ed Harris' portrayal of him in the movie version of 'The Right Stuff'

    Exactly. I don't understand why anyone would be surprised or saddened.

    His was a life well lived and one to be celebrated, not mourned. Imo, of course.
