A very sad day. Nick was a super guy who I was privileged to call a friend, and one of the greatest talents of our time (or any), no exaggeration. You name it, Nick had it in spades. I always thought he would have been a huge star if he ever got the chance to appear on national TV in the right slot. May he keep rockin' forever.
I met Nick here in Corvallis a number of years ago during a very poorly attended gig. His playing was fantastic, his tone was huge and he put on a great show for the few in attendance. He gave me a band T shirt afterwards as we sat and talked music and gear for a while.
This is such terrible news. He was a genuine talent and he clearly loved to play.
Very very sad to hear that one. What a talent, what a voice. He sat in on a gig I was in L.A. Years ago and swung like hell.
That is an awful form of cancer and took my friend & great guitar player Dave Bernstein as well. R.I.P. Nick, we will remember you.
That is really terrible news. Hearing his stuff really inspired me and a whole bunch of players I know. He is one of my favourite modern players and he was a great vocalist as well - I loved his Little Richard covers.
