Whenever I run a xlr cable from my mic phantom power box to my porta-studio I can clearly hear radio stations, tried switching cables and phantom power boxes, the only thing that seemed to help was wrapping around the mic stand or another cable. This all started when I moved my recording stuff into the top level of a three story house.

    Any ideas?

Wrapping the mic cable around the mic stand will probably be cheaper than lining the walls with lead.:)

It's acting as an antenna, especailly when it is laid out straight. Try another cable . You may have a bad ground/shield.
