Do you know somthing about the effects /gear Jonny Greenwood uses with Radiohead?
Thats not a good site man... Its left the most important effects out! ALot of the thick Fuzz is made by a Lonetone Big Cheese pedal, and also he is welknown for his use of a Dod Envelope Filter 440.
Im bringing this thread back up to ask about the guitar part in Paranoid Android when Thom's singing, "What's that..."
It sounds like an octave something or other. I checked out the last link and I couldn't pick it out from the list. Is it the dod? whammy? small stone? Ive never used any of these so Im in the dark. Help?
Booyah. Great song.
Thank you! I didnt hear the second guitar there (panned left). The higher octave one is what I was getting at (panned right). So that is the Whammy? I've heard that effect in some other of their tunes, but I cant think of any of them right now because Im just thinking about that guitar riff.... DANG IT!I think that you hear some Whammy octave up effect there, but from Ed's guitar rather than Johnny's. They both play the same descending melody an octave apart on the fretboard, although it sounds like two octaves apart because of the Whammy. Johnny also uses his small stone for this part live, I'm almost sure I've also heard him use the DOD Envelope Filter for this part sometimes in live shows.
