Anyone heard of this thing or using it (the v1 model) ?

Short story - it is a quad core CPU with 1G of Ram for $35. It is the size of a credit card. And it will run a special version of Windows 10.

Can it be used in a stompbox ? Hmm...

I'm by no means an expert, I have a couple that I've been messing around with. Hadn't heard about Windows 10, personally (based on past experience with Windows away from the Rasp Pi) I would stick with Linux.

If it can run a MAME cabinet smoothly I'm in.

The reason I mentioned Windows is because it can open the door to more available software, like running a whole amp modeling package (like in your DAW) in a stompbox size enclosure for example. Plus it speaks to the power of the hardware.

I don't have one but my friends have built arcade machines with them, used them for media streaming, used them to control an automated picobrewery and so on. The new one will be able to run a free version of W10 and is backwards compatible with the old one, plus is more powerful.

I wonder what the limitations of the 'free' Windows 10 will be.

Like most things, I dove in all the way.

This is three Raspberry Pi 2s. They're not connected, but they're configured to be a Hadoop cluster. The main one is hooked up to an old MacBook Pro 17" screen.

I have a fourth Pi hanging on the wall in my garage near my telecom rack. That little Pi has replaced a decade-old P4 Linux server. The Pi runs faster and has more disk space. It also takes up the size of a deck of cards and consumes about as much power. I love these freaking things.

Oh...I thought you were making a stompbox. That's cool though.
