RCA Greyplate vs Blackplate

    Macaroni is a different kind of tube ;)

    I'm primarily playing amps set up for clean to edge-of-breakup, and so that's what I'd favor them for. With the brighter tonal character, I don't think I'd like 'em as much for "high gain"

    Black has more character imo.

    Cleans are rounder, more 3d

    Break up is richer in harmonics
