Re-bias a Carmen Ghia?

    There's a Dr. Z Carmen Ghia on ebay right now and the description says it was recently re-biased. Two questions. Isn't this a cathode-biased amp, and if it is, how or why would it be re-biased?

    No biasing needed on a Ghia

    It is a "self biasing" amp, though self biasing amps often don't bias correctly for every pair of tubes. You should check with the seller as no one here, that I know of, has telepathic powers :AOK

    He recommneds putting in GT tubes #5 or #6 for the proper bias.

    yep no-biasing needed on any of the DR's EL-84 amps
