Right now I have two options on the table for my Heritage H-150 refret; Phil Jacoby or Mark Kane. I know they would both do great work, but before I commit - is there possibly a third, more local alternative that could do similar quality work in the Florida panhandle?

I don't have the experience, time nor desire to get into re-frets. I called around and there's noone here even remotely recommeded....maybe I should, maybe I will.

Not the panhandle, but the best are the boys at the Guitar factory in Orlando. Doug and Billy. Russ Teigen is awesome too in Naples. I also have a friend in Cape Corral that is amaizing on anykind of work, but he flies under the radar for now.

I think he wants to know if you're happy with the re-fret so he can add Wolfe to his recommended shops.

I'll add 1st Fret Repair in Port St. Lucie. Great guy who did some minor work on my Melody Maker. No website, you'll have to look him up in the phonebook.

There is a guy in Port St. Lucie named Bob Peterson that does excellent work. He re-fretted my '60 ES330T, beautiful job.

I don't know anyone in the panhandle, but Dave at Siesta Key Guitars in Sarasota could be worth giving a call to if it's not too far.

Bird Dog Bobby is well known around these parts for his amp expertise, but he's great at guitar work too. A couple of friends prefer his work over anyone else around Central FL.
That said, Billy and Doug (and Mike Tobias when he was around) are the only ones that have done refrets on my vintage Gibsons since '75.

    Check him out at www.birddogbobby.com
