Im waiting on a pretty beat up DM-2 in the mail.. How hard would the re-sale value of the pedal be if I re-housed it in a nice shiny red box?..
*I think I remember someone on TPG doing this already- if so- some pics/tips would be great..

Pretty sure your resale value would be nonexistant, but do it if you think the casing is on it's way out - I'd be inclined to just deal with the beatup case though...

Any pictures of the poor beast?

    Hey CustomGR,

Unless the original metal Boss case is cracked, leave it in its original case. If you decide to sell it, it will retain its resale value.

i think it depends on if you add true bypass to it, but still it will still have a resale value because its a boss unit just rehoused.

Is this the pic you're thinking of?

What I would do would be to rehouse it for daily use, but keep the case. If you choose to sell it, you can revert it to the original case, or sell rehoused (at the buyer's option, even), so if anything it should enhance the value. Hardcore collectors can be fickle about these things, but if it's already in rough shape, it's for a player anyway.

That looks hot as it is.

Keep it. Beat up pedals are ace. I got an OD-3 off ebay recently and was a bit upset at it's condition - now I really like it - not that I'm going to beat up my other babies...

I like it. It shows proudly its battles wounds, like your favorite worn-out jeans ;)
