Not real amp for bedroom - an amp for a real bedroom - ie not a 100W boutique Marshall clone with hot plate and power scaling into a ported 1x12". - my playing conditions have changed somewhat and I just don't see the point in cranking up a tube amp of any sort at home for the time being - so what's good/OK these days - cube15?

I love my Cube 30, in fact I practice with it often even though I have a pretty nice rack here.

If you know someone who has an axe, you should try it out. It is the perfect amp for bedroom:AOK (I have had pod's as well)

Kendrick 118. One Knob...Great Tone! Simple, and very usable volume.
Carr Mercury. The original and perhaps best answer to this question. Marshall gain (and more) dialed down to 1/2 watt. (settings below there lose something)

Next time you're in Fort Myers, Florida try my low watt prototypes at Real Guitars.
They have the 1 watt Mini Champ and 2 watt Dyno Tweed.

    Agreed.

Every time I fire up my Axe FX after midnight I marvel at how good it sounds at low volumes...even through a high wattage tube power amp and 4x12. After 2 am I run it through a SS combo to decrease bottom end and can play all night long without distrubing the neighbors in the apartment next door.

    Blackheart BH1H Head - 1 watt
    [IMG]
    Blackheart BH5h Head - 3/5 watt triode/pentode switchable.
Epiphone valve jr - 5 watts

All are great with a sealed cab, decent overdriven sounds at just about any volume. The 5 watt epiphone and blackheart can be loud with OPEN back cabs, they are much more neighbor friendly with a sealed 1x10 or 1x12 cab.

Another cool gizmo is the Zvex Nano- only a 1/2 watt but with single green back or even a 10w jensen alnico it gets a very decent sound.

    Fender-
Pro junior - 15 watts, 10" Speaker. Almost a stripped down Blues Jr.

blues jr- 15 watt, 12", reverb.

    Fender champ 600
    Gibson GA5 Les paul amp

You might consider getting some sort of Tube preamp with a headphone out, run your pedalboard into the tube preamp- especially at 2am.

Find a used Roland Bluescube on ebay is another choice for warm tone at bedroom levels.

WAVYWatter. 1 Watt Amp made by Ace Pepper of ThunderTweak. Uses any 12A*7 series tube in the first two slots, so the volume and tone can be changed significantly. I like it with a NOS Mullard 12AX7 in the first slot, a NOS JAN 5751 in the second. Third tube controls reverb, so it has to be 12AX7 (and a cheapo Sovtek will do just fine) fourth tube slot uses a 12BH7. I got a NOS Hammond tube in there and it really sounds great!
