I have some 12ax7's from some 60's amps that are made in Poland but in larger yellow lettering they say "Realistic" over top of a block lettering of LIFETIME.

Are these simply early radio shack? or was there another Realistic in the tube manf.?

AFAIK 12AX7/ECC83 were not manufactured in Poland from ground up. They were bottled there using finished guts from RFT and Tungsram.

Lifetime warranty...they may still honor it but they'll replace once with whatever they still get. Realistic tubes were always relabeled, what they are, and quality varies with the era, sounds like yours could be pretty decent.

I think Telam and Polam brand tubes were made there. I think the story is that Phillips equipment was put in place in a factory in Poland. Radio Shack rebranded everything from Mullard, Matsushita, Tesla, etc.

I've got some made in Korea, Mexico, and Great Britain. GBs appear to be Mullards.
