AT the recommendation of some gear page members, back in May of 2005, I transferred money ($13.99) via PayPal for a bottle of Chapin Guitar Polish. That was over a year ago and I'm still waiting for it.
I emailed him several times but never got any response to my emails. I also phoned him and left messages but still no response.
Anyone else had this experience with Bill Chapin?

Bill is a good guy, there must be some type of snafu. Send him a pm here, I think he pops in from time to time.

I went through exactly the same thing.....
I had ordered some guitar polish and cleaner and waited forever, just think think he forgot it.
No response to emails and no answer to any phone messages -
You could consider complaining to PayPal if he doesn't send you the product.

I already did PM him - that was back in June.
Gave him my address and copy of PayPal transaction.
He said he didn't know what happened and would send it right away.....
Well you know the story - still no Guitar Polish!
......guess that's why I'm posting this now -

Wow.. boutique guitar polish. Well at least when you finally get it, you can resell it for 3x its original value because of the long wait.

Bill was unexpectedly under the weather for a bit. You might try again.

Unlike other guitar polishes, Chapin uses virgin blood and children's tears...

I had a Les Paul with all the bad QC problems you hear about here....snapped headstock, pin holes, orange peeling, fingerprints in the finish, pencil marks on the wood, dead spots, no pickups, crackling pots, etc. etc. The minute I opened Bill's wonder cream, all that went away and it turned into a '59 burst. I then sold it on ebay for $500,000.00.

I think Bill's polish is pretty good - but after I sent my money in, I had to wait almost a year before I got it, and probably would not have gotten it at all if I had not posted here on the forum.
It seems like there's an elite few who are able to communicate with him by phone or some other manner, but for the rest of us it's generally no response to phone calls, emails.
I might consider buying his polish again, but I would never want to go through what I went through to get it - just not worth it.....

note to all: i passed along the complaints to Bill this evening.

maryann, check your e-mail. i don't speak for Bill, but thought a word here is appropriate. where there is criticism, it's acknowledged; where support, appreciated. for the polish i'm told one of our more esteemed members has taken over distribution, so i'll write him to insert a word & pointers here.

    Hi everyone,

If any of you want some of Bill's Focus Fine I can help...! I have one bottle left with more being ordered tonight. I have to buy a load at a time so I would email me at Leomuser@aol.com & get on it if you want it. Will have more really soon!

    Best,
    Dean
