these days i m trying to find a good "head" for a plexi marshall tone(the tones that i like for example are :zz top, peter green, gary moore from :"blues for greeny" album),and i wondered why to look for a ..for example germino,wallace,D-C 45/50 etc.. amps and not for the stock marshall jtm45...
can you tell me three..four..five reasons for not buying a stock marshall and buying one for example roccaforte amp?
which are the advantges of amps like..germino,roccaforte,wallace?
    thanks
    takis

reasons for buying a germino and not a marshall reissue:
    1) The germino sounds much more like the original jtm45 than the reissue
    2) the germino is build like the original while the reissue is build with a PCB and cheap parts - this means for instance that the trafos in the germino are much better than the reissue
    3) the germino is easier to service
    4) the germino is easier to mod
    5) germino can tweak your amp according according to your wishes
    6) you can choose the color of the germino

I'm guessing there's not to many Germinos in Greece...or amp techs for that matter.

You shouldn't call people stupid when looking for information.

    It makes you look stupid.

it sounds still more like the original jtm45 even if you live in greece.

germino builds his amp like the original while reiisue is build with a PCB and cheap parts even if you live in greece.the trafos in the germino are much better even if you live in greece.

its easier to service even if you live in greece.

its easier to mod even if you live in greece

germino can tweak my amp according to my wishes even if i leave in greece.

i can choose the color from here that i m staying too.

so i think you are both not so clever guys.

order one from stu at fatsoundguitars. it will not cost you much more than a new marshall I believe.
I live in Norway - we have pretty much the same problems here as in Greece I presume

I'm as happy as a clam in a pool of vodka with my 1989 reissue of the Marshall JTM-45.

Buy the Germino, or if you want even more versitility, get a Conford Hellcat....Even the old school English guitarists won't play newer Marshall's any more. They know better..That's one reason that the English Cornfords' are so popular, in spite of their higher prices..Any good amp tech can fix a Germino or Cornford, whether it's Santa Fe NM, USA, or Athens Greece:horse :NUTS  :(

Exactly. And that illustrates the point of the people you were rude with.

The Germino is probably a better amp. It's also probably more expensive and more difficult for you to obtain. I would think that you could find the Marshall in Greece but not a Germino.

I have played many of the Boutique clones that supposedly use "better parts, transformers blah, blah, blah" than the Marshall. I actually had a Blockhead clone (which is my favorite Marshall style builder) right next to a HW Marshall JTM 45 RI, an original JTM 45, and standard Marshall el cheapo JTM 45 RI. The El Cheapo JTM 45 RI sounded MUCH better than all of them to me. It had mor sparkle in the cleans, and went into crunch earlier. Yep, with all of its cheap parts, grarbage transformers, PCB construction ETC. If I were buying one, thats the one I would buy. :BEER So far, I have found HR Devilles, The Vox AC 30 CC, and now the JTM 45 production amps can give you EVERYTHING tonally speaking that their vintage brothers and boutique clones can give you. VERY GOOD VERY GOOD!!

It was just a guess. I'm sure your country has wonderful amp techs.
Next time I need an amp fixed I will seriously consider taking to Greece for repair.

this is not my experience - I've tried several original and reissue jtm45s. However the new jtm45s are much more consistent than the old ones. I prefer kt66s over the 5881s that the reissue uses.
