My DC-3 has a V30 in it. I'm looking for something with a bit less midrangey honk, and more punch and dynamics.

Anything that will sound good in my Mesa?

    Hi Brian,

Fellow Boog user here. A few options:

    - Mesa MC90 ...less mids/uppermids than the V30, cheap and easy to get used.
    - EVM 12L ...tight bottom, very punchy and focused. Some say "sterile" ; I say "accurate."
    - Emi Swamp Thang ...tight and punchy, like the EVM, but with a bit more mids.
    - Emi RWB ...smoother and flatter response than the Swamp Thang; less "in your face" and more subtle. One of my personal Emi faves.
Hope this helps guide you a bit.

Definately need to look into these.

What about the more expensive options like Tone Tubbies?
