Recommend a delay - I'm pretty specific

I'm looking for a small delay with a dedicated tap tempo for a new board i'm putting together. I need it to do dotted eighth, and I need the inputs/outputs to be on the sides, not the top. I just really don't like top-mounted jacks.

I'd love something like the Wampler Faux Tape Echo - but it doesn't have dedicated dotted eighth - otherwise it seems like exactly what I'm looking for in size/features. I love that vintage tape sound.

So in summary: small, tap tempo, dotted eighth, tape sounding, inputs on the sides - GO!

MLJr. - if you're able to stray from true "tape" tone.

tc flashback if you don't mind strum tempo & that awful switch (it's terrible).

the stock digital delay is fantastic. all the other delays are ok. for great tape, you have to look in the tone print library.

I was actually looking at the Diamond Memory Lane Jr - right now it's coming out on top. I have a Flashback and a Flashback X4 - but that audio tempo just absolutely does not work in a live setting where I'm starting every song - so everyone's waiting for me to kill the signal, strum a few scratches and start. I've tried it - it does not work.

The Flashback X4 is too big for the new board. Too big for most boards, really.

DD-7 with tiny tap tempo box. Super good delay and getting an external tap box frees you up to do any number of things without having to play "stomp around" with the pedal to do the tap thing. Excellent dotted eighth setting - and you can do stereo with it (which sounds very nice, btw). Frequently on here used for $100-115, often with a small external tap box included.

There are a number of folks here that make the 1"x1" external tap pedals as well if you wanted to go custom.

Apparently a Faux Tape Echo v2 w/ subdivisions is in the works if you don't mind waiting a bit...
Also Source Audio is releasing the Nemesis delay in a few months that fits all that criteria.

Wow I think the Sourse Audio could be exactly what I'm looking for! I wonder when that new Wampler Tape Echo will come out (if it exists). At this point I'd probably get whichever is released first.

Brian Wampler said in another thread somewhere that they were working on some coding issues still, and he didn't give an estimate for a release date. Dunno...

Geez, you exactly described a MLJR or the new Counterpoint, which specifically has a tape mode....

I'm pretty happy with mine. Only thing I don't like is it doesn't have a good oscillation sound. Oddly enough the Hardwire DL8 is probably the tops in that dept for me.
