I'm playing a Strat (three single coils with hot bridge) through a TopHat CR, which I run kind of on-the-verge-of-breakup-type thing. I have a Wampler Ecstasy Drive, which I love. It definitely gets pretty rockin, and also does the bluesy/Dumble type thing extremely well. But I'm looking for something a little more rock n Roll to have as well.
I was thinking of the tone I'm looking for. It doesn't need to be specific, just something that covers a certain type of tonal range. Here's an example of the type of drive I'm looking for. I know live he uses an Orange and also splits a cable into a bass amp from a pickup he adds on the low E and A string (It's just him and a drummer live). But in this recording, he probably has a Champ in there as well, and probably a few different amps. So, like I said, it doesn't need to be exactly this, just something that will help me rock a bit more like this:
Listen to the chorus guitar tone.

Another example of tone I'm looking for would be something like the song Bleed American by Jimmy Eat World. I heard they used Traynor amps for that album. NOt sure if that's true or not though.
