Right now I have a Scarlett 212 and a small mixer, and I'd like to get a mixer with more inputs. It would be great if I could also use it as I/O for home recording as well.

Any units out there that people can recommend?

I'm pretty happy with the Yamaha MG16XU board in my rehearsal space. It is limited in that the audio interface is hardwired to the stereo channel. I found a workaround by using one of the groups to drive the speakers, another group to drive the headphone amp and then the stereo channel is routed to the computer. I have made some very decent live drum recordings using cheap mics.
