I sold everything off a few months back when I was in a funk so now I need an amp. I have looked at alot of different ones but how about some recommendations? I am looking for an amp that can go from clean to Hate Breed like distortion for around $1,000. Any recommendations would be great. From solid state to tube, combo, half stack???????? Thanks

I've read they pretty much nail his Cowboys From Hell/Vulgar Display of Power tone.

Ampeg VH-140C, all Randall RG-series amps, Peavey Bandit, about every single Crate SS amp, ALL modeling amps... Heck, pretty much every slightly "modern" 2-channel amp does clean + extreme metal higain today. If you buy used the prices tend to roll below $1K.

There is a brand Guitar Player has reviewed favorably - I think it is Blackheart? Anyway, check out musician's friend catalog as they have lots of amps of that type and price range.
