    What do y'all like?

The sound clips of GGG's Octavo are killer, IMO & Pedalworx' Octabooty sounds noice as well. The Nick Nitro looks nice (& is low $). Also considering Voodoo Lab's Proctavia.

I'll probably goose the octave w/my Hellbilly. Hey, go big or go home, right? I'm not into subtle; I like old school, heavy, 'dirt' rock/stoner rock/metal & am not trying to cop anybody elses tone. I want a 'heavy', fuzzed out octave.

Oh, I'd REALLY like to stay in the $150-ish or less range.

    Thanks.

Go to "more pedals" and scroll down to the Doubler clips. The first one. Tell me that's not pretty great sounding. The other clips are OK, but the first one is the sound I want! $159, too.

Wonder if you could find a deal on a Jonny Octave. Man, when I played through one of those, I was really impressed. It's a cool pedal that does its own thing and is not just a copy of something else.

The Octavian looks nice, but is, like, more than $100 more than I want to spend.

NashvilleSteve, thanks for the tip, but those KR clips kinda left me flat.

Anybody point me to some Nick Nitro clips?

My favorite octave is F to F, usually starting on the 5th string position.

Sorry, I couldn't resist. I like to check out one of those KR Doublers. What great sounding octave tone in the clips!

The MJM Roctavio is a pretty sweet one.

    Wichita,
Tell us more about the Chicago Iron Octavian. I know the back story on this pedal supposedly being a faithful clone of the Tycobrahe octavia. I have never played either one.
Could I trouble you to give us a short review?
    Thanks,
    E

I have a Nick Nitro. This is my first octave fuzz pedal, so I am not real knowledgeable about alternatives. My assessment is that, for $100, the fuzz is good, the fuzz+octave is pretty good, the octave by itself is not good.
I mean the octave is unusable by itself to my ears, and still sucks when goosed by the Fish Factory. It works when goosed by the Nitro fuzz.
I think you can get something better, but it will be more $.

    The Prescription Electronics " C . O . B . " (Clean Octave Blend ) might be worth considering.
