I'm searching for a good octavia fuzz. Looking for a regular size pedal and not too pricey. So far I think that it's between the octafuzz by fulltone and the proctavia by Voodoo Lab. Any idea?

I'm pretty happy with the Lovepedal believe. No knobs, but it sounds pretty good. I find my best octave sounds to be had, with a drive hitting it, and me playing on the neck pickup above the 7th fret.

I've owned both of those and both are great. The Dunlop Octavio (white cheese block) is really, really good but might not fall under regular size.

I like the Fulltone Ultimate octave.. Sounds great with both single coils and humbuckers and sounds good on the bridge pickup too(but still has the most pronounced upper octave with the neck pickup)

Also has 2 footswitches to switch between octave up fuzz and just fuzz and has a tone knob,Volume knob,Fuzz knob and fat/bright switch..What more could you ask for for 160 new ?

I use mine for mostly the fuzz.. has a real thick mid heavy QOTSA type chunk to it and velvety smooth notes.

Need to look at the Chicago iron Octavian for sure.. Awesome fuzz+Octave tone. I miss mine.. Even though I now stack all my current fuzz pedals into a roger Mayer Octavia. This allows me so much for ability and a wider range of tones.. But I really miss the bloom of the CI.

I too owned the Ultimate Octave and liked it a lot. Then I had another that I liked a lot, can't remember if it was an HBE UFO or a prescription electronics pedal. They were both really good too. Didn't use the octave fuzz too often so I let them go a while back.

I've had a Chigaco Iron Octavian Plus for about a week now and I am in love. Expensive as hell but worth every penny.

For the money, definitely a used dunlop wedge or an octafuzz, though for your needs, I would lean toward the octafuzz.

I recently got a used Prescription Electronics Experience for only $143... the octave is magnificent, and the swell feature is really cool.

Fulltone Octafuzz. Flawless recreation of the "Purple Haze" Octavia sound, and with the flip of a switch it turns into a really good conventional fuzztone.

+1 on the Octafuzz. I'm really pleased with it. IMO the Octafuzz (like lots of vintage fuzzes) sounds the best when running into a dirty amp. I use clean amps so I stack my fuzzes into an overdrive pedal (MP Royal Blue Overdrive). The Octafuzz also sounds great into my Sunface.

Does anyone read the original posts? OP said not too pricey and people be throwing out Chicago Iron? At 300+ dollars I can't think of a more expensive one!

I really dig the proctavia personally. It's not a pedal I use a lot and couldn't rationalize spending big bucks for one. But for about 75 bucks used, you can't go wrong. VL makes some good stuff and have a great customer service team.

I did an A/B/C test of the dunlop hendrix (BoG) octavia, the Mayer rocket octavia and the mayer TC octavia. the latter was the clear winner IMHO.
