The stock case that came with my Yamaha AES 1500b does not work for this guitar. The back isn't supported, so stress is put on the neck, and the case presses down and puts stress on both the bigsby and the pickup selector.

This guitar belonged to my late father, it was a gift from his boss and was purchased somewhere in Nashville, allegedly belonged to a session player. I took it to a new shop in town to get a set up (the last shop I took it to did a horrible job on it) and there is actually a crack on the back of the neck near where the neck joins the body. Thankfully, it's not separating so there's no need to have the neck replaced.

The shop owner recommended a gibson es137 case. Gibson cases are pretty expensive though, maybe SKB makes something that will work? It's a BIG guitar, and it's fully hollow, but it obviously doesn't have the depth of a jazz box.

This isn't mine, but you get the idea of what it looks like:

Yamaha didn't bother making a case for this Bigsby-equipped model, so I've been using an old acoustic bass case. It's ugly but works.

These are amazing guitars! Better construction than most.

Case from the Ibanez Artcore arch tops should work.
I actually have one for sale.
It fit a Gretsch 5125 just right.

Nice guitar, I have one in the same color.

Mine lives in an Epiphone jumbo acoustic guitar case. My dealer couldn't find the original case....fits fine

That's cheaper than the TKL case in the link above, seems like. Good option. Do you have to put a t-shirt under the body?

Mine is yellow, I love the Orange ones though.

I'm at work, but I can check it out this evening. Seems like a good fit. I really like the Yammy; mine is strung with 11-49 D'Addario's.

    Nice harem shot!

I'm at work too, bummer of a Sunday.

That picture is from 2011, the strat (I have another) and les paul are gone (I loved that les paul, but it had a twist in the neck. I bought it used but got rid of it because of the twist). The crunch box and FDII are also gone. Miss those as well.

Yamaha shouldn't have used a used a Bigbsy B6 though, there's almost no break angle between the bigsby and the bridge. They should have used a B7 with the bar to run the strings under to increase the break angle.

I checked my Epiphone case for the Yammy. Definitely could use some extra support between the back of the guitar and the case, especially near the heel of the neck. Other than that, it's a good fit...

Hmm. If you stuffed a t-shirt under the back, would it still fit with the bigsby?

I think it would fit fine with a shirt or towel behind it.
Mine doesn't get out much, or I would pad mine a bit more.

Thanks! Think I'll roll with that case.

If it doesn't work out you could always get an Epi J-200 to fill it!

So the Epi Jumbo case was a no go . . .
