I'd recommend NOT using an A/B box, but using a short instrument cable to go from one channel to the second and mix the in that way. At least with my experiences, the treble and bass tones were just too different to A/B the amp into a two channel amp- instead, I mixed the two at once and got the best of both channels into one.
Rapco makes a good, effective, and affordable A/B box.
Reinhardt "Hitman" AB/Y pedal with a built in boost. Perfect. It's not on Bob's website so you'll need to call or email him.
+1 a must for amps with normal/bright channels.Reinhardt "Hitman" AB/Y pedal with a built in boost. Perfect. It's not on Bob's website so you'll need to call or email him.
yeah, the boost part bothers me. I'm looking for the most transparent thing because I love the way the amp sounds.
Damn that Reinhardt pedal looks cool! I just picked up an ABY from Startouch that is also well made, bright LEDs, just a passive box...my amps channels (old TopHat Embassy with brown Fender and AC30 channels) must be out of phase though because the Y setting sounds crappy. I may need to get one with optional phase reversal if I want to combine channels, but the only simple, affordable one I saw that had that (Headshot) didn't have LEDs...
Here's the one I got:
