I have a very basic recording set up, pretty much hinging on my old M-audio Fast Track Pro. It has some problems from old age I suppose, but I really like the simplicity of it.

I know m-audio has updated products, but wondering what you think is a comparable, low-cost replacement. Any opinions would be very welcome.

This is the replacement I'm considering - seems to be about $100. http://www.m-audio.com/products/view/m-track-plus-mkii#.VN7LuPnF98E

Focusrite Scarlett is pretty nice in that price range.

Don't buy any more m-audio ever. That line of interfaces was quite good. I have the profire 610 and really like it. The problem is that m-audio does not like to update their drivers and they really do not care about their customers. The 610 and 2626 series has always had a offset timing issue that m-audio forever refused to fix from the start which means that you can never get your tracks to line up evenly throughout their length even if you get them started at the same start time.
