Right now Im waiting for the new peaveys to come out but Im afraid they will be POS from china as Ive heard of the valvekings lasting just under a year but still interested, also looking at the Laney ironheard mini, but it has no clean and the tiny terrors but also one channel and although they sound great I need gain on the lead channel but Im open...is there anything Im missing that I should look at? wanna keep the price under 6 or 700 dollars or cheaper so the splawn and the mesa stuff is out for now...I currently use a 5153 mini for gigs with either an orange 1x12 or 2x12 and I have a few other 1x12s so Im looking for a head...any input from the gearaniacs would be great, thyx!

Mesa TA-15 used are going for $600-700. You might find one for a little less. Versatile and built like a tank.

There's supposed to be the EVH 5150 lunchbox by the end of the year.

I would definitely recommend save some buks and get a mini rectifier 10/25 W, they are just awesome !!!

    Happy rocking

I got an ENGL Ironball a few months ago and run it with a DRZ 2x12
    I love this amp..
I had to play with the preamp tubes a bit to smooth out the over drive, I like high gain but want it on the warmer, vintage side.

I haven't had this much fun playing guitar in years.

I was very impressed with the Egnater Tweaker 15 head that I owned. I thought that amp sounded great and sometimes regret not experimenting more with different power tubes. Nice master volume and worked exceptionally well with pedals.

You say you're worried that the Chinese made Peavey's will be a POS, but you're looking at the Laney Ironheart and Orange Tiny Terror, both of which are also made in China, and they are both great amps. This whole "comes from China, must be s**t" thing is getting real old.
