I have been recording using a pretty basic Alesis mixer until the connection port on it broke. So instead of getting it fixed I bought a new Alesis iO/26 interface. It connects through a firewire cord. I use my laptop to record, and it doesn't have the standard firewire port but it has a mini-firewire port, so I bought a cord that would connect to it. The software I'm using for my laptop is Cubase, I'm not sure what version. But since I have been using the new interface it will skip for about 5 seconds at a time when it records. So when you listen to the song afterwards it cuts out a couple seconds about 5 or 6 times. This is extremely frustrating, and I can't find out why this is happening. What should I do? Is it relating to the mini-firewire port on my laptop, or is it the interface, or software, or what? I am completely clueless about this. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,Brendan
