I have been recording with my iPod using the Belkin mic. I really like having something so portable and that has so much room for recording. I have an 80 gig iPod and I have 45 gig's free for recording. While I like how easy it is to record like this, the quality sucks. I'm wondering if there's a better way to record into the iPod, better mic? Or, I'm open to getting something new that works just as easy, but with much better sound quality. I tried the Zoom H2 and it was only a little better in the audio, I'd like to do even better then that.

invest in better mic and possibly a mic preamp...there are all kinds of electrocet stereo mics out there which would work, many are designed for bootlegging shows...a powered preamp with bass rolloff would complement this set up, and remain very portable

What mic and preamp would you suggest that works with the iPod?

Or is there a better way to go?
