Saw them last night in Green Bay---last night of a FREE three night run. Redd Volkaert is a master of the Tele. Such a display of taste and chops---all thru a Peavey combo--a little echo--and a Tele. And a great voice. Jaw dropper....

Redd's the man, ain't it? Talk about pure talent. And great heart, too.

Been there, done that--and hopefully, I'll get to do it again!

Redd's the man, indeed, but Heybale is a larger group different from seeing Redd with his own band. Both are great. The guy who sings and plays acoustic in Heybale has a perfect old country/western swing voice and style. Then again, so does Redd as a singer.

    Yep. Redd's THE man.
One of the best things about Austin is Redd's Saturday afternoon matinee at The Continental. He's a masterful guitar player and entertainer.

Yes the band was phenomenal as well. Gary Claxton on vocals and guitar sounded like Hank Williams and played a mean rhythm guitar. Earl Poole Ball on keys was incredible. Played with Johnny Cash for years.
But Redd.... Man what can you say?

Saw Heybale about 3 months ago in Austin at The Continental. It was just perfect! Love that band.

Redd alone is worth the plane ticket to Austin.

Saw the show Sunday night in Green Bay. Great band and Redd put on a master class in Tele guitar.

I don't do too much traveling or touring with my band, cause I'm old and grumpy.
If I can't pay my band real good and have all of our travel expenses covered I don't go.
I don't care to squish in a van and sleep on speaker cabinets anymore so if its painless, I'll go.
I have no immediate plans of any traveling til the third week of April
I'll be in the NorthEast Ny and hopefully some other places in that area,
only a couple of gigs booked so far for that one though.
    Thank you for asking though,
    Redd

Did just that last year. The wife and I caught Hey Bale at the Continental Club, awesome. Great player and seems like a very nice guy.

Reminds me of BITD when Junior Brown played every Sunday night. Just doesn't get any better. Doesn't hurt to live 1 mile from the club. And you never know who might sit in. I missed but heard of EJ sitting in with Redd at Shoal Creek Saloon with about 20 ppl in the audience.

Redd is the man! And super nice, too.

Red Is one of the things I miss most about Austin.
He is very down to earth and pulls no punches.
Straight shooter with no bull you know ?

No body plays like that in Austin Red came to my home
allowed me to look at a few of his teles....

My favorite one was the blond with the charlie christian pickup in the neck.
What a sweet tone that guitar has.

Of course the player is everything there and Red is quite something to see.
He makes it look real easy and its not.

Hope to catch him soon again at the cc in Austin.

Hey Redd...my wife really digs "Just Because I Don't Care Doesn't Mean I Don't Understand"...it's become her favorite saying at work.
