I remember the first time I heard them...driving down to the Gold Coast with my GF and her sister and 2 girl friends. One of the friends had asked if she could play Garbage!

Played some tunes while driving during some errands tonight.

    Any Love for Garbage?

I love this band. Super tight production, smart songs, and Shirley Manson gets absolutely everything she can out of her voice.

Nothing for me to rediscover. Certainly one of my favorite bands for the last few years.

Excellent production. Great songs. Well executed live too.

    We actually cover "Special"

I have a good Garbage story...

Sometime around 1999 or so (not sure), I was living in a small California college town. I was into Garbage like everyone else. I found out they were playing a small venue in town, but unfortunately it was long sold out before I knew about it.

I was walking past the venue in the afternoon and saw some guys unloading gear. I walked up and asked them if they could use a hand. They said "sure" and started telling me what to do. After the unload, the head guy told me to come back tonight to help move the first band's gear off the stage and set up the second's. I said okay, but told him I didn't have a ticket. The guy said, "Here take my all-access pass. Everyone knows me anyway, I don't need it." :dude :banana

So I come back as promised and helped out again. Of course, I got there early and saw the openers! Walked right past the line with my pass, too. That was great! Then, I got to go up on stage in front of all these people and help out with the gear. Friends came up to me days afterwards saying, "Did I see you on stage at the Garbage show?" :aok

To make a great night even better, the guy let me keep the pass and invited me to the after party. I got to meet Shirley and got the back of the pass signed by her. I still have it tucked away somewhere.

That was one of the best experiences of my college era.

Ive always liked them myself. A few years ago on another forum it was more cool too bag on them and folks who dug them. Im glad this place isnt like that at all.
Ive Always dug the attitude in the vocals and the band is quite solid.
Sadly they dropped of the media radar and the industry machine isnt interested in bringing music with substance like Garbage back into the limelight.
