I received my brand spankin new Reeves Custom 30 combo yesterday (thanks so much to Bill at Reeves - stellar service). In keeping with the spirit of a truely "New" Amp Day I took pics of each step in the unveiling of a freshly boxed up "new" amp:

    1. The Box:

Undamaged and just waiting for the tape seams to be carefully cut with a box cutter and opened. The anticipation builds:

    2. Peeling back the first layer.

As you look at the packing material you can help but think what beauty must lie beneath:

    3. The first glimpse.

At this point your heart starts to race and you desperately hope that the shipper of your new amp has not harmed it in any way.

    4. The slightly obscured full view.

Your impulse now is to quickly tear off the rest of the packing material! But you don't. You take a moment to just look,....and take in the awesomeness:

    5. And finally,....

There she is -- sooooooo beautiful, and complete with that "new amp smell". The obligatory face and booty shots are appropriate at this point:

    6. The satisfied customer.

I will give a full review later -- but my initial impression = :D

Probably the best post I've read in quite some time, and the pics & narrative are a story in themselves.

Play the dickens out of it and good luck as well...;)

    Thanks much.

Decided to have a little fun with this one since it's the first truely "new" amp I've purchased in some time. Anything else I've acquired over that past couple years has been used.

Shoot -- wish I were home now so I could fire that beauty up.

Awesome. That's one of the amps that I keep considering. Specs-wise, it's perfect for my needs. And the clips are nice too. One day, I just may give in. I'd go for the head though. ;)

How much does that combo weigh?

I'm envious. Those speakers are excellent! Wish I didn't sell my custom 6 combo, but I want the 12.

The combo weighs in at 60lbs -- not a light weight, but not too bad either. I have a Reeves 2x12 cab that I can run with this as an extension, so if I happen to need the extra air I'm covered.

Sometime down the line I'd like to own a Custom 50 -- so the 2x12 will always come in handy.

The clips of the 12 sound great -- I also own a Custom 18. That amp just rips -- different than the 30,...more gain and more Marshall in it's character.

Dude, you can't bump yourself witout giving an initial report.

    Well, how does it sound?
I have wanted a Custom 30 for some time.

Is it punchy? (I couldn't think of anything else to ask)

If you find the time to tear yourself away from tone heaven, how about an in depth
A/B of the Custom 30 vs. the Custom 18.

Hows the small room volume on the 30?

You gotta do a youtube mini clip of you and the Reeves stack!
