I got mine today and all I have to say is that it is awesome. Tone controls are very useful but not really needed as everything sounds good on 5. Takes pedals well, well except for my OCD but that is because of the flubbyness of the OCD with some amps. Sounds great with rc booster and zen drive. I love this amp sounds great with and without pedals.

Contratulations. The Custom 6 is an awesome amp. I have the old style 1x12 combo with Vintage Purple. You hit the nail on the head about the EQ. I generally keep all EQ controls flat and it sounds pretty much perfect. I do dial up the treble a touch when using humbuckers, but only sometimes. I actually like the sound of my OCD, version 3 I think, with the Custom 6. It sounds really good with fuzz and the volume at about 2 o'clock.
