You guys who follow my clips, know that I've spent the last two years
trying all kinds of speakers and blends.

The EVM12L + Fane Medusa 150-C Blend is the cream of the crop.

Put Any 50-100 watt big block on top of this cab and you'll see what I mean.

This my friends is the Bees Knees if you want a 2x12 that easily rivals nearly any full size 4X12 for punch, clarity, bell like chime, the sickest full bodied OD tones, mix friendly and 2X12 portability.

Mic'd up with the Mercenary Audio TAB Funkenwerk SM57 on the 150-C and my old club worn AKG D-1000 on the EVM12L

I'll be adding a few Clean channel Strat Clips ASAP.

Added a super simple ballad round for this Clean Test just to see how it's tracking.

Most notable, the glassy clean top end coming from the Medusa 150-C

It turns out the signal from the AKG D-1000 on the EVM12L was hotter than the signal from the Mercenary TAB SM57
when I switched over to the clean channel.

I adjusted the input level on the EVM12L which was trying to dominate
the blend in the clean channel.

I switch from the bright bridge PU to the middle PU on the low E.

All that jangle and chime is coming from the Medusa 150-C

Channel 1 Volume & Tone Settings, Reverb & Brilliance

Thanks Scott!

I still have lots to learn and really wish I had a drummer/Logic programmer to work with.

We had a great time putting these clips together after numerous takes.
We made a point of keeping the musical content all original or generic rather
than attempting to match a particular cover song.

I'm completely thrilled with the way the Fanes translate what's coming into them
as well as the way the EVM12L adds depth of tone in a complimentary speaker blend.

The New Reeves OS 2X12 is one of the best sounding cabs I've ever played through.

Sounds badass. In front of which speaker do you put mic when playing live with band?
What cab/speakers do you use with that Marshall that's next to Bad Cat?

I'm asking because I'm looking for speakers for my 2X12 cab to use with Marshall jcm 800 1987.

If I were setting up mic's for live, I'd mic the Medusa 150-C in this cab.

John was running the Marshall through an old Mesa 2X12 loaded with U.K. V-30's

The Fane Medusa 150-C leaves those V-30's in the dust.

I'm always mindful of my neighbors and have asked repeatedly if I'm disturbing
anyone and no one has complained.

The house has R-21 walls, so as long as I keep the doors and windows shut, the sound
doesn't seem to bother anyone.

The last three clips of the Custom 50 Jimmy came out very well.

I featured this clip of the Custom 50 Jimmy & Reeves OS 2X12 on my front page because John switches his Fralin Split Rails between HB & SC settings, so you hear both pickup types.

Here's the settings.

Just brainstorming something with pre-gain cut back on the Reeves Custom Jimmy to about 11:00

I'm a bit too ham fisted on some of the chords, but what gets me is how the cleans
ring through. That's the Fane Medusa 150-C

You can hear every detail for better or for worse.

The clips sound great, I think this pushed me over the edge of getting a Fane Medusa 150C - I like my 150 stamped frame, now it's time to try the cast.

Thanks for all of the clips FFTT!

I just now totally stumbled onto this old audio only recording of Johnny 1979
Live at the Outside Inn, playing Eruption.

I dialed the Jimmy pre gain back to just under 10:00
Strat Plus Middle PU Gold Lace Sensors

Literally just hammering out a rough arrangement on a new idea.

You can sure hear the caaaarraaaaang as well as the spindly jangle and chime
on the top end and all my mistakes.

After tracking this, I kinda wondered , is this too much jangle, too bright?

So I consulted the experts.

I already knew the EV left channel is tracked a bit too hot, but
I'm more interested in how the very top end is dialed in overall.

All of this continues to be a learning process.

If you were dialing in these amps out of context to the vocals, bass, tambourine & drums,
you might think the guitar tone is way too thin and spindly.

Then in the mix, you hear the guitar shines through and it sounds perfect.

I have never heard of BadCat. Are they any good? Never heard of Reeves!? Well made? What are the dimensions? My favorite cabs are Stone Age and Bogner thus far. :)
