    I currently have a Boomerang Plus, a Boss DD-6 and a Gigadelay, a Hardwire DL-8, etc. I also have a modded (R3FX) Line6 DL4.

I sometimes work in very quiet, intimate performance situations in which the mechanical click/clunk of a metal foot-switch is noticeable.

Is there a digital delay that has quiet/silent foot switches THAT ALSO allows for the use of an expression pedal that can be assigned to control wet/dry mix?

The Boss RC-30 has the sort of quiet switches I like, but I do not think it has expression pedal input (as opposed to a tap tempo switch input)

(I'm not looking for anything esoteric; the above delays work fine in terms of audio quality for my needs.)

In the past I've done things such as using a Boss LS-2 line selector and a volume pedal after it to control, the "return" of my (100 % wet) looped signal, etc. I'm trying to consolidate.

Also: Does anyone know if the Digitech Jamman pedals have "loud" foot switches?

    Thanks.

Good unit, but switches are noisier than what you want I think.

You can judge for yourself here. The audio is a single stereo mic right over my head so it'll give you a sense of what the switches sound like in the room with the amp set at conversation-level.

Switches on this one are fairly quiet, but still not as quiet as on the Boss or Digitech hard wire. You can set auto-fades though.

I see that the BOSS DD-7 has an Expression Pedal input that can be assigned to effect level. Any others?

So do I really need TWO Pigtronix Keymasters or GigRig Wet Boxes to have foot pedal volume control of stereo loops?

Has anyone remoted the knobs on a Boss LS-2 out to a footpedal?

Would a kickdisk or two serve as a quick 'n' dirty fix on the LS2s?

Thanks. I had thought about something like that in lieu of pedal control. There's another company that make a knob-turner add-on: http://www.optionknob.com/
    Maybe one of each.....

Yeah, I've had both, I mildly prefer the kickdisk but there isn't much in it.

I use a digitech jamman older double pedal version with the optional 3 button foot switch and its very quiet. plus with the extra foot switch it opens up all kinds of looping options compared to with out it. I'm really happy with it

A tiny sliver of foam rubber under the front edge of the Boomerang footbuttons can make them almost silent. You have to experiment with the amount of material and then press them with a tiny bit more force but it does work. I did that to a Plus and it's been fine for years now (no change or degradation). Works for the new model too. Another place to use foam might be between the plastic footbutton and the switch but I haven't tried it yet.

Does anyone know if there is a mod for the Boss DD-20 Gigadelay that would allow a pedal to control delay level (ala the DD-7)?

    Thanks.

I couldn't find a mod when I had one. The new Vox Looper appears to have volume control if I'm reading the specs right.

Yes, and I have a Boomerang II..... The issue was not the looping delay device, it was the switching device. The LS-2 seems to be the best thing around for my needs....
