Rejoining the Amptweaker Tribe: TightMetal Incoming

I had a TightRock last year and foolishly traded it, not really realizing just how great a pedal it was. This week, I scored a minty-fresh TightMetal for a great price, and it's on it's way. Looking forward to this one more than several of my other purchases lately. Will report back, of course. It'll be fun to put it side-by-side with my Weehbo JVM. I suspect it'll take me a bit further down the, ahem, tight metal path than the Weehbo is able to go (though I also expect to keep both, as they'll do different things, methinks).

Awesome! I have placed the TightMetal Pro into my cart several times before deleting it, definantly want to hear how it compares to the Weehbo, I hardly ever play metal stuff, but Amptweaker makes some serious gear that just begs to be bought...

I'll definitely do a comparo. I don't expect them to compete head to head, as they're differently voiced pedals. I'm hoping the Amptweaker is complimentary in the sense that it's one or two steps up the gain food chain from the Weehbo, which does the hotrodded/modern Marshall thing so very well.

I'll think about it. I don't really have any recording equipment, so I've never posted any clips. I've always figured YouTube probably has enough bad cellphone videos without me adding mine. But I'll see.

Plus, there's the fact that I have more skill at purchasing pedals than actually playing.

Yeah, that and the TightMetal Pro both look fantastic. I nabbed this TightMetal because the price was really, really low--too low to pass up.

Interested to hear about this. I have an MI Effects Megalith delta, but I know that the TightMetal is often mentioned as another contender for that sound.

Been down that road too often, and I've had the Megalith Delta on my board over a year now, FWIW.
Also run an Elements, and an incoming Wampler Superplex (had the Super Plextortion a while back & miss that sound)

Only Amptweaker I had was the Tight Drive and didn't like it's gain structure, too "chewy" and couldn't dial that out.

Actually have been enjoying the heck out of my Mesa DC5's gain channel lately, to the point I no longer look at high gain pedals.

What's to become of me????
