Dude gave me the Madison Blues. I love his style, his voice. Wish we had more recordings of him.

I just talked to my baby on the telephone
She said, "Stop what you're doing and baby come on home"
    I can't hold out,
I can't hold out too long

So I guess I'm going out to buy some Elmore James music tonight...I hear Derek Trucks talk about him all the time.

    Incredible

Scorching. Just love the winding up leads. What guitar and amp would he have used?

One of my all time favorites
Found Elmore James via the original Fleetwood Mac.
I attended a Mac concert back in the fall of 1969 and the best part for
me was Jeremy Spencer playing Elmore James tunes. Those were the days!

Thank you Elmore. You passed it on. RIP

One of the most "stolen" from guitarists in the blues! I know I have, plenty. Not too many players are as immediately recognizable, even in recycling, as Elmore. His name is synonymous with a whole style of playing.

The version of "Dust My Broom" Elmore recorded for Fire Records is one of the most killr blues tracks I have ever heard. It's like a raw nerve. It slays the earlier version.
