I'm looking for some inexpensive replacement Strat pickups for a mediocre MIM Classic 70's reissue.

I would like some 50's styled pickups with sparkle and chime, but I don't want to break the bank with Lollars or Antiquities. Any suggestions?

Duncan SSL1s and SSL2s, depending on the radius.

I have Fralins, Antiquities and a couple sets of Fender Custom Shops and I like my SSL2s just as much, but in a different way.

Mine currently had the hotter SSL5 in the bridge, but it had all SSL2s for several years when it was my #1 guitar.

While you're in there, unless you really thrive on the brash bridge pickup and mostly play clean, wire it so the second tone pot also controls the bridge pickup.

SSL1s are great! Also, Fralin winds fantastic pickups.

Has anyone tried the AVRI pickups? Are they any good?
