I've got a 1967 blackface Fender Vibrolux Reverb with 2x10's that are sounding a little tired.
What can you guys recommend to replace them?

Should I stay ceramic, or go alnico?

    Thanks

I like the punch of ceramic speakers.

I'd look into Eminence Lil' Buddies or Delta Demons.

Go with the Weber equivalent of the OEM speaker, or buy a correct vintage model off of eBay and re-cone. My preference is the recone, but Weber's the best at replicating those speakers imho.
    Peace...

I had Weber 10F150T's in a '66 VR and thought they sounded great.

The perfect speaker for you VR would be the Weber C10Q speaker. I think that Weber has another name for it, as C10Q is the old name. If you contact Weber he'll tell what the new model name is. The C10Q is one of the most balanced speakers I've heard . I've got one right now in my '66 Princeton Reverb and its very balanced. I set the treble and bass on 5 and I'm good to go. The speaker is also VERY CLEAN and LOUD.

Tonequest mag has a Q+A section and this was answered scroll down a bit-http://www.tonequest.com/askour.htm.
I,ve got 3 vibroluxes and pretty much any efficient modern ceramic or alinco combo improves the tone that is unless you have Jensen c10n's originally in there they are supposed to be the definitive speaker for VR's.
