One of mine fell out, what do I do??

Do they need to be glued in? Or are they just set in?

    What do I do?

    Thanks!

They usually aren't glued in - in fact it usually takes some effort to install them. If it simply fell-out, then it is obviously loose. I LITTLE bit of wood glue on the sides of the ferrule should hold it in place just fine.

The string tension will hold it in, many vintage fenders have this issue, just be careful when changing strings.

That's exactly what I did with my old one. And just a LITTLE is enough. Seriously though, after that, I didn't have a problem for four or five years until I traded it. (Still wish I had that one).

A luthier yesterday told me just to use a dab of elmers to hold it "just well enough" so that I could replace them with others later if I wished to.

    Thanks guys.
