Posted about this a while back. After picking up the 1960A HW 4x12 Cab to go with my 1959 HW Head I noticed the cups on the bottom of the cab ( that the casters screw into ) were made of plastic and wouldnt have been back in the day.

So I had some made at a Local Machine shop out of Bearing Bronze. Now these may not be like the origionals in any way but the material is in keeping with what they would have been back then.

Also there will be no worries about breaking these while moving the Cab. So heres some Photos.

    The Plastic Ones First.

Well it has a more open sound with more articulation. That mystical magical Tone thats sometimes hard to replicate. I've found that with the Bronze Feet the cab is more stable and if I hold my jaw just right I get this extra bit of sustain. ;)

No really the results are no breaking pieces of plastic shiznit. :p

Well they have no sharp edges. The screws are counter sunk into the cups. Every edge is chamfered and they are polished so I dont think there is any more chance of these scratching Hardwood than the others. Though one can allways stick the casters in when needed.

Martins I'll open it up and take some pics sometime today and post the. Dont mind at all. They are supposed to be spot on but with plastic feet makes you wonder.

Erik are you allive? I thought you fell off the face of the earth.

Just got done shipping Blarens Head Cab. Cleaned it up and it looks real good.

I dont get it they went to the trouble to put the metal handles in it but put plastic feet and that stuff allways breaks.

Fixxin to head down to my Little Play room and enjoy my freakin Day off. :dude

Yeah it would be interesting to see..so far I have yet to see a repro cab really look identical internally. Most obvious is usually the center brace which tends to be a 2x2in in repros instead of a 2x4in like the originals used. Also the bottom strip..but not all old marshalls had that.

Heres a pic of the inside a '66 slant for reference.

    They look cool.

FYI, in the last 20 years I have never broken a plastic caster cup...
