I've done some searching and it seems that there is a new Retro-sonic delay on the way? If this is correct, then does anyone know any details? Features, updates, due date? Thanks everyone!
    Peace.

Where did you see that? They do have a new distortion pedal coming out this month.

    Yes it's on it's way.

I have wrote a email wich you can do....just get on the website.
It will have a longer delay, but no tap tempo.

    Did you try the Echobox?

I recently got it and I like it a lot.
    Also got a T-Rex but it's a cleaner delay.
The echobox is a bit darker but the sound is nice...

Got a few demos on youtube under ''Echobox''....

Emailed him also and as mentioned above it has a longer max delay time, 800ms as opposed to the old one having 600ms max and he has also eliminated the "popping" sound when engaging the long/short switch. Still based off a dm-2 also. So pretty much the same delay with some minor upgrades. Very good sounding delay by the way!

The RS delay is pretty much the best sounding analog delay on the market now that can be bought immediately for a good price. I love mine and might get another if they put one out with an addition 200ms. Then again, once most analog delays get that long you get really really dark.

Hey, thanks for all the responses! I'll have to check out the vids on the Echobox. Anyone give a comparison between the RS and the AD999?

    Waters, welcome to the forum!

The AD999 might have more time but beyond about 500ms its way to dark. It also clips a lot easier and most of the delay time range is bunched up on the super short end so the area between 300ms and 550ms which is where most of my delays are is only between about 11:00 and 1:00.

The retrosonic has a tone knob which keeps it dark or bright, two delay times (basically) and better control of delay level, and a smaller enclosure. Its also about $60 cheaper.

I don't agree w/ any of this. RS looks nice but never tried one and probably won't any time soon, completely happy w/ the AD999.

It's the standard brown color one.
    Not the new expended model.

The T-Rex is better overall when it come to how clean a delay can be (Hi-FI)

But the Echobox is a bit darker with more flavor to it's slapback or repeat.
When you do a solo, you can hear the guitar sound echoing and sounding a bit darker and it makes it more interesting since your original sound is slightly different than the echo sound.

For me I use it more for old vintage Rush songs like a Ecxhoplex in front of a marshall kinda sound.

I love to have my echo units in front of my tube driven amp.
You get more echo out of it.

ALSO the Echobox as lots more echo volume than the T-REX.

AND you get a slight untuned chorus with the modulation knobs.

VERY INTERESTING at a lower price.

I love to have both in different applications....really.
    I just love echo effects.

Any word on whether v2.0 will have more headroom? The one I tried would overload/distort when hit moderately hard.

Yup- it's a really exceptional delay. I thought it sounded better than any other analog delay (and better than the MP/BJF DBD) by far.
