I was wondering if someone had try both of theses phasers and wich one was sounding the closest to the MXR?

I know the RS has 3 knobs and the BYOC only 2.
But apart from that how do you compare those units?

I have both. I built the BYOC and have used it for 2 years, sounds good. Recently bought the Retrosonic, sounds amazing, immediately replaced the BYOC on my board. Similar effect, but the Retrosonic sounds bigger, fuller, warmer, quieter, etc. I don't what the guy is doing, super high quality parts or what, but his chorus is the same way, incredible fidelity, low noise, great sound.

Again, the BYOC is not bad, I much preferred it to the modded Dunlop MXR Phase90 I had before. Retrosonic is in a different league.

I never had a BYOC but I do have the retro-sonic and it kills. Great sound. My EVH phase 90 is now collecting dust.

I had a retro-sonic and just finished the BYOC and I think both are fantastic.
The RS was really full and deep and the BYOC is a bit more transparent.
You can't go wrong with either pedal.

I have been using the BYOC for a year now and love it. Sounds great to me. Never had the need to look for another and the audience is not complaining either. Never tried the RS.
