Anyone else get an email saying this??? Sounds like the company line of nothing will change, we will just be bigger and better. If it’s true I guess we’ll see.

Yep, email came in a little while ago.. Hope it truly does remain the same, sometimes it's marketing tactics to keep the current list of vendors.. Time will tell..

Rarely do acquired companies continue as they did before.

Expect changes ... as in expect to pay more when you list and sell an instrument on Reverb.

I'd love to be proven wrong but I doubt I will be.

    Hmmm.

Maybe we can get hand-knit pedal doily thingies now.

    Win!

I hate to admit but etsy does have some cool stuff. Especially handmade guitar straps.

Can’t wait to buy my first chalk painted and bedazzled Jazzmaster from the new Reverb.

Glad I’m done selling anything in the foreseeable future. Fully expect listing fees to go up. Always do.

I’ve bought quite a few items on Etsy and like them a lot.

Nothing but positive experiences on Etsy (mainly buying gifts for the wife).

I don't doubt that fees will probably go up. As others mentioned, companies are rarely acquired and everything stays the same.

That would depend completely on the seller wouldn't it?

My wife is an Etsy seller. Checkout The Mouse Project should have a need for flower crown mouse ears. They will periodically mess with their algorithm which pushes her listings further down search results. Then she has to figure out the new maze to get back to the top. Of course Etsy's solution is that she pays for their version of the bumped listing. I wouldn't be surprised to see similar applications to Reverb.

As a mod once said in the Nuendo forum, "being acquired by Yamaha (or in this case, Etsy) does not necessarily mean being run by Yamaha (or in this case, Etsy)".

And Etsy seems to have a good reputation.

    So, we'll see.

I don't view this as a good thing but we'll see. My opinion mattering would be a first.
