I'd really like to try one of the new 1 watt Marshall heads, but I like my verb. Anyone tried running a reverb pedal into one of these? Results?

i use a TC Hall of Fame into my JMP-1H all the time, sounds great unless you over-do it.

If you want your gain from the Marshall, about the best desciption I can come up with is "Dinosaurs in the tarpits."

I think he means that the reverb with dampen the Marshally gains you would otherwise get. Yes, if you over-do it, there may be some loss but mine does just fine with it. You won't want to use an RV5 though.

Not quite. If you put reverb before distortion, the resulting compression of the reverb's signal tends to make Godzilla like noises. Maybe fun for a special effect, but not my main tone, for sure.

Another option, that often works better for me with NMV ams, is a short slap-back delay. It works great for depth without mud.

just my stupid opinion but Marshall and reverb should never be in the same room together......to each his own though.

Well, unfortunately, I tried it and have to agree with the majority opinion here. I bought a Marshall 1 Watt JCM head, and while I was very impressed with the quality of the sound, the reverb before the gain does sound like crap to me. It's better with the gain dialed back on the Marshall, but then why use a Marshall? Being a reverb junky, gotta let this head go and stick to pedals for gain.

Thanks for all the input, though.
