Reverse Delay Tips

Any tips on using this in a more musical way? As in not just making noise? I did a little research but I can't find much. I really like how it can be used in a more ambient context but I can't ever seem to get the settings dialed in right on my DD500.

This is the sound I'm going for.

Any advice for settings? I'm just having trouble grasping it

Repeats and delay to a minimum
Mix to maximum [delay only]
This will give an affect of instant reversal of lines that are played

The tone at the beginning is more of a 50/50 wet/dry mix, one repeat with the delay set to the tempo. I get some neat, sustainy ambience with 3+ repeats and the delay time such that the first repeat fades in as your original note is still decaying. Keeping some dry signal in there helps maintain the attack (which helps it cut in a mix better, imo), plus I have a hard time thinking so many miliseconds ahead of the time I'm supposed to play a note.
