To me this is the most legendary song ever. I wouldn't even mind it at my funeral :D

    Give it a chance - it's a classic.

That's a very nice and well produced song. I can see why you like it.

I like the Take the time to smell the roses song because Ringo is just so ostentatious in it and he has such a great sense of humour. It's also rather catchy - almost like an old Al Jolson Song if he actually sang it rather than talked it :)

    Love this song.

Ringo's solo stuff always had a lot of humor in it. His stuff always reminds me of growing up in the 70's. The No No Song was great. I also love this one:

^^^ Yeah that is great. It's been a long time since I've heard it but I remember it now.

Thanks for the trip down memory lane.
Have to admit the George Ringo video to the song Photograph was touching.

Was he drinking heavily during this period?

    Pretty embarrassing stuff there.

I don't think it's embarrassing. I think his work is really quirky and oozing with personality. The song I posted up put a smile on my face and I'm sure that's what Ringo would have intended. I would love to have guts to get up in a top hat and tails and make a music video like that and actually the song has a great message :)

The photograph song is actually pretty good and it's very poignant.

I reckon "It don't come easy" has a great vibe about it too.

I'll admit it's not my normal taste in music - but that doesn't mean I don't appreciate it for what it is.

Great video. But, to me, incredibly sad. It's hard to watch.

Ringo and George wrote "Photograph" together in 1973.
Ringo sang it at the Concert for George as it seemed a fitting tribute.

I'm tossed between these two songs:

Definitely that. His humor was appreciated by the public, who bought his records in droves. His hit singles far outsold his ex band mates.

That Photograph really chokes me up. I always loved that.

Here's George's demo of It Don't Come Easy, for those who haven't heard it. It also explains why the last note of the guitar solo is chopped off. Check out the backing vocals during the guitar solo.

Sorry, I've always loved the man, but "Ringo Starr" and "Best Song Ever" are two things that don't belong in the same sentence.

"Ringo Starr" and "Great Drummer" do.

Well maybe best song ever is an exaggeration :D.

I get very enthusiastic about English humour sometimes and it was so lighthearted, funny and over the top. I just thought it was great for that reason :D

Sort of like Monty Python's 'Always look at the bright side of life'.

Ringo had no idea what the lyrics to Matchbox were now did he?

    It's...

"I'm sitting here wondering will a matchbox hold my clothes"
    fer the love of Pete.
