Amazing keyboard player. He did a lot of great work with The Mars Volta, guested on a few Mastodon studio tracks, and I guess had been working with Jack White lately.

Found him in his hotel room on tour with Jack White in Mexico.

I was really sad to see this news yesterday. I wasn't familiar with his work until The Mars Volta, but I saw them during his tenure with the band several times and he killed it. TMV lost a big piece when he departed the band. I wasn't aware he was playing with Jack White (because the Jack White solo stuff does nothing for me), but it was cool of Jack to pump the brakes on the tour out of respect.
