Unfortunately it appears as though you are not wrong. What a shame...... another talented musician taken way too early. I only saw a pic of him jamming with Duane Betts and others over the weekend. Tragic news

Really sad news. Saw him live with Ryan Adams a few times - great guitarist & singer & seemed like a good dude too. RIP Neal.

Unbelievable. He’s one of my favorite “newer” guitarists. Will never forget attending the Fare Thee Well shows in CA and hearing this awesome instrumental music before the show and during intermission that sounded like the Dead but was clearly not.

Turned out to be Circles Around the Sun, found out who the guitarist was then went down a path of all his music, saw him many times with Chris Robinson, Phil Lesh, and Hard Working Americans.

Such a big fan of his and this one hurts. RIP Neal.

The closing song on the last CRB album seems incredibly fitting and almost prophetic now

Truly shocked to wake up and see this. Guy was an amazing talent.

Like a lot of people, I was turned on to him and Circles Around the Sun from their amazing setbreak music for the Grateful Dead Fare Thee Well shows in 2015.

One of my favorite musicians, RIP Neal. I met him and Ryan in 2009 and never stopped following Neal's musical projects.

How has a dude with a picture of Jimmy Herring's pedal board as their avatar never heard of Neal Casal?

RIP, gone entirely too soon. Seemed like an incredibly nice guy from interviews I've seen, and an absolute monster player. I hope his family can find peace in the months and years to come.

Thank you for posting that, I've never seen that video. That's my favorite Dead song. Instantly brought me to tears.
