Rivera amps compared to Rivera era Fenders; Deluxe II, etc?

I have played through the Fender "Evil" Twin and a couple red knob Fenders. I'd have to say I liked them for what they were.

If these were Rivera circuits, how do the Fender Riveras compare to the Rivera amps? Why do so many guys mod the Fenders if you can just go buy a Rivera?

I know someones going to say, "Why ask why?".

I didn't think the 'red knob' Fenders were Rivera-era. I thought his amps were the Champ 2, SuperChamp, rinceton Reverb II,Deluxe Reverb II, Concert II and Twin Reverb II (none of which were red knob era Fenders).

Ok.

So, how much better are the Rivera line amps compared to the Rivera/Fenders?

Having owned a SuperChamp, Concert, and a couple of Riveras, I would say the difference is the added gain in Riveras. I think he was trying to hold true to the Fender legacy when building for them. I think the coolest thing about his Rivera amps are the two distinct channels with the Fender/Marshall flavors that are footswitchable. They are great for gigging.
