Plan to get the RMC wah, now just comparing the 4 and 8, since there is no local dealer in my city, hope someone who can give me some opinion.

I love vintage sound, and I play everything beside metal. I watch lots of videos of RMC 4 and really dig its sound, even there are not much RMC 8 videos, but it still sounds fantastic to me, and also I am a big fan of John Mayer.

so which one should I choose? what is the main difference between them? Thanks!

Have you also looked at the RMC 10?

Yes, I did, since the RMC 10 has fast sweep which I don't prefer, so I will just focus on the 4 and 8, the 10 sounds fantastic to me, but I prefer slow sweep

Sorry, that was a joke on my part (8-4 = 4). But I do have an RMC10, and its a Ferrari of a Wah pedal, really an awesome thing! You're right though, it does have a fast sweep, but I'm learning to just not get overzealous with it.

RMC3 is fully tweakable to your own tastes. YMMV

Yea, I had RMC 3 few years back, I loved it, but I am not a tweak guy, so I sold it. I think the RMC 8's 5 band EQ is not too much for me.

Can't speak on the RMC10 because I have not stepped on another wah since I got my RMC4 many years ago. It's perfect.

    Makes sense.

I had a Picture Wah and wanted some more "oomph" and with the cheat sheet that came with the RMC3, I was able to get it there. Have not touched the settings for 8 years.

    Good luck with your quest
