Rob Oliveira Tele

Rob Oliveira of Crowley Texas: Recently Rob built for me this Tele. It's a USA Custom Guitars body (swamp ash 2 piece) and neck (maple/maple). Rob finished the body in very thin nitro along with the face and back of the headstock. The back of the neck and the fingerboard are done with Tru-Oil. The pickups are Don Mare 2324 Nancy with a transparent nickel-silver cover on the neck pickup. The rest of the parts are the Callaham black guard kit: dig the knobs!

I will use the Callaham kit on my next Tele. And I'll ask Rob Oliveira to build it for me.

I'm sure Mr Callaham would answer that Q about the tuners.

Nice finish...I like how well you can see the grain. It may be an illusion, but the finish looks really thin. I've got the Nancy pickups in my partscaster and they're incredible. Damn near a perfect Tele as far as I can tell.

My black guard partscaster has a very early set, #34, of 2324's in it. They're from back when all Don was doing was rewinds. The guitar is definitely a special one, to me.

Enjoy yours, it's beautiful and I'm sure it sounds great too.

Thanks, it's very thin. I am looking forward to seeing the grain even more over time as it ages.
