Roccaforte Switcher kit from mojo

Looks cool.. wondering why they didn't go with an added tube stage for more gain. I guess it might just be tweaked values to get more drive out of it? I'll be interested to hear people's opinions.

I'm very interested in this kit. Doug says that they will be posting clips in the near future. I really want to build an amp and this seems like a really good one in terms of usability. The footswitchable preamps will basically make it a 2 channel amp, or a 1 channel with solo boost, however you want to look at it.

This amplifier has a two stage preamp, and it's single channel.
There is a trim pot so you can vary the bias of the second
stage for more gain.
I didn't want to go high gain with this amp, I was more
interested in getting the best possible tone out of it,
and leave room for using clean boost pedals ect....,
if a more modern type of OD is needed.
For me, the circuit is just fine.
I'll be adding some mods for the kit on the forum as time rolls on.
It's a great amp.

Exactly!
Now, add a clean boost and it's like a three channel amp
minus all the extra junk in the chassis to do that.

Doug, great idea! Trying to get a handle on the basic components/design, so stick a question mark after each item in my list:

- 2xEL34
- SS rectification
- class AB
- adjustable fixed bias
- Choke
- Whose transformers?
- bias points
- 1 trimmer to adjust pre-amp bias/gain
- 2 or 3 12AX7s
- 2 outputs for 4/8/16 oms cabs (or maybe 4/8/8/16...something like that?)
- T-M-B, Gain, .... for each channel
- Master volume
- Presence
- must use A/B box to switch 'channels'

Let us know what's incorrect there, or missing.

I'm guessing this is very fast, articulate type amp, yes?

Can you describe the gain levels in terms of any of your existing models?

For some reason getting any info on this thing has been kind of difficult lately. I'm very interested in buildong one as well.

This is a single channel amp with footswitchable preamp controls.
Remember your Custom 80, that's how much gain you have
but you can trim that up or down internally.

Wanted to get one, but no clips kinda bummed me out. Not that I base my purchases soley on clips, but it's nice to hear something on these. The idea of a great clean amp as a base is cool, and the low gain thang works for me too.
